The TM’s expert team has failed to fix the extremely slow Streamyx connection in Felda Sahabat, Lahad Datu.
According to Streamyx users, they have filed a complaint on December 23, 2010 but it did not improve or fix their problem.
Some residents complained that they only receive a download speed of 7 Kbps, even though the lines suppose to deliver 1 Mbps connection.
A local cycber café even has halted their operation due to this connection problem.
A resident who requested anonymity said that he had filed a report at TM 100 on December 23, 2010. Since then, he has been receiving calls from TM call centres saying that they had fixed the problem.
However upon checking the connection speed by using TM Speedometer, it’s still shows 50 kbps instead of 1Mbps, which is the connection speed he subscribed and has been paying for.
“They even closed my report without my knowledge,” said the disgruntled user.
According to him, he went further by reporting directly to TM Rapid Response Team on December 29, 2010 by sending them the TM Speedometer result print screen, to no avail.
The problem persisted until he sent another report to TM Expert Team on 3 January.
After much deliberation finally a local technician said that I could get discount on my next bill. Upon hearing that I felt cheated as I was paying for a service which supposes to provide me with 1Mbps connection said the user.
At the press time, the connection speed in Felda Sahabat, Lahad Datu only shows 10 kbps.
